FAQ
  1. Slayers rite of ruin, would hitting armour deliver 2 damage seeing as armour cannot be cleaved? - Yes, the rule states A strike from this weapon will cause 1 cleave point or +1 damage. The cleave would be if it hit a weapon, the damage would be if the strike hits armour or character.
  2. With the slayer’s rite of fire, what would happen if the weapon strike’s armour? eg leather or padded. that would be set alight? and if it hit metal armour would it just do nothing? - Anything Combustible would be set alight as per ignite spell, nothing would happen to metal armour as this spell is Unblockable so, the spell effect would go to the clothes underneath.
  3. Would a slayer rite work on a ranged weapon such as a bow? being as a bow is not the thing you are hitting them with? - Yes
  4. Would the dwarfs extra armour feature apply to monks when their arms and legs count as armour using iron focus? - No, the extra armour feature states this is for Physical armour that is worn by the Dwarf
  5. What will happen to players with characters that are now unplayable? - There are no current live characters that are unplayable.
  6. Given that all hits on armour only deal 1 damage to armour would spells and abilities which deal multiple points of blockable damage like the Tieflings infernal bolt still deal just the 1 damage if armour is hit or would the armour take 2+ damage from these sorts of attacks and if so if someone with only 1 point of armour is hit with something like this would the excess damage carry over? - Its only a mortal wound on armour that counts as 1 point not 2 as you can’t give armour a mortal wound but any spells or abilities that give more damage and are blockable by armour will still deal multiple damage.
  7. As it's very similar how would this work with skills like back stab and assassinate? It doesn't say if these need to hit an unarmoured point like shank but as it is attacking with a weapon would they still affect an armoured target? - This has now been reworded, the same as shank you need to roleplay finding the gap in the armour for these skills.
  8. If a weapon is carbon forged do the next 3 attacks made with the weapon need to be cleaves or can the call be held until you wish to use them? - Must be next 3 attacks.
  9. While a warrior is using undying spirit can they still be affected by spells which don't inflict damage like paralysis and if so, would this also apply to the paralysing strike of the monk, the Tieflings hellish rebuke or the slayers rite of flames which cause no damage but have other effects? - Although the player using undying spirt wouldn’t feel the effects of such things during the 10 seconds, they would still be subject to aftereffects from anything magical or potions, all the monk’s strikes are however physical so wouldn’t affect the player using undying spirt.
  10. Has anything been decided about how a character levels up beyond level 20? - Not That we are ready to release yet.
  11. Does the monks Iron focus extend to the hands and if so, would this allow the monk to grab a bladed weapon in sash combat in the same way weapon shafts can be grabbed? - No, the rule clearly states Fore arms and shins only.
  12. Can chain or padded armour be used under leather armour? it says it can under medium and heavy. however, it says neither that it can or can’t be used with leather? - No
  13. Previously stated in the leather profession, cured hide could only be used on 2 pieces of armour. as that has been removed does it mean it is now it can be applied to all leather armour worn? - It has now been reworded correctly; this skill now adds 2 global armour points to the characters count temporarily usable on any piece of armour that has been cured.
  14. The monk meditation skill says to use the skill you must be in a meditative trance not just resting, does this mean ki can be regained 1 per 10 mins while resting? - Yes
  15. Does the elf racial ability reverie stack with the Monks meditation to half the time again? - It does stack but it gives you 2 Ki Bands back not half the time.
  16. Can a Warlocks pact weapon be enchanted? - No.
  17. Can ki abilities be used with a weapon so that these abilities can still be used when fighting a non-sash player? - No – this is a sash Specific Class.
  18. Could weapon focus be used if the effects of the fog spell are in place and the character is unable to use ranged weapons or spells? - No, Weapon Focus is a game mechanic safety feature.
  19. Can a cunning beast’s venom be used to poison weapons if time is spent to milk the venom, would there be a limit on this, e.g., once per 30 mins? - Yes, you would get 1 vial after 5 mins of milking, however that would leave the beast with no venom for the rest of the Day.
  20. With the monks guarded defence is it 1 ki for the first dodge call and then 3 ki for the second dodge call provided you've taken the skill twice? - This was the original concept and was supposed to be once per battle, after this question we have relooked at that skill and have decided that it will now be 2 ki points per use and will last 10 secs per use, no limits on number of uses.
  21. Can slayer rites be used on any weapon and by extension with the imbue other skill could this rite be used on a Monk’s fist? - Slayer Rites can be used on any weapon that comes under the weapons list in this book, the monk’s fist is what they use to harness their own power so no it is not classed a weapon for other skills.
  22. General query rather than rules question but why is throwing weapons level 8 for monks when for all other classes that get the skill it's level 2, 3 or 4? - Monk is designed to be a close combat sash specific character, we therefore decided that monks shouldn’t get this skill till much later.
  23. Do racial and character traits which give extra manna bands also apply to ki bands? - Yes
  24. Can ki bands for monks be replenished with manna potions and enchantments in the same way other manna bands can? - No, as Ki represents the monk harnessing their power from within themselves to create magical effects and exceed their bodies’ physical capabilities it can only be regained by resting or meditation.
